University of Alaska Fairbanks Great Hall Remodel
RSA Engineering provided mechanical and electrical design and construction phase services to remodel the Great Hall at UAF. The electrical design consisted of revitalizing the common area with new dimmable LED lighting with a touchscreen control interface that allows varied lighting zones for the different uses, the centerpiece of the design included a unique one-of-a-kind lighting display that uses programmable color changing LED lighting hidden in a soffit to illuminate an array of reflective chains handing from the ceiling which gives the college the ability to program custom scenes and displays, (such as mimicking the northern lights, changing to blue and gold for collegiate events, red-white-blue for 4th of July, etc.) The project also included HD screens for signage and wayfinding, an A/V rack with controls for an HDMI connection inputs for a projector and sound system and new power/data infrastructure upgrades to support the remodel and future projects in the area.
