STG Building
RSA Engineering provided mechanical and electrical engineering design for a new office building. The HVAC system for the STG Office Building includes a VAV roof top unit, with packaged cooling and gas-fired heating, and VAV boxes with hydronic re-heat coils serving each space. The heating plant is a high efficiency gas-fired condensing boiler. All hydronic heating equipment in the building is sized for low heating water temperatures, allowing the boiler to continuously operate in condensing range, where it is most efficient. The building has a snowmelt system connected to the same boiler, separated by a heat exchanger so the main building utilizes only water for heating. The building HVAC system is operated using a direct digital control system. RSA provided power distribution, lighting, telecommunication and multimedia conference room AV system design for the new facility. The project won featured unique LED lighting solutions to highlight the architecture and won an IES Section award for lighting design.
