Covenant House Alaska Replacement Facility
The Covenant House Alaska Replacement Facility was designed for new youth-in crisis support. The project consisted of a two story building with approximately 41,500 SF of new building construction and associate site improvement. RSA Engineering provided mechanical and electrical design for the project. This two story building included youth-in crisis shelter/community service areas, administrative areas, classrooms, kitchen/dining area, and a multi-purpose room.
The electrical systems consisted of electrical service, interior/exterior lighting, power, information technology (IT), fire alarm, standby generator power systems, IP camera surveillance, multi-purpose sound, cable television, and door access control systems. Plumbing design included plumbing fixtures, kitchen appliances, roof drainage, and waste and vent piping. The HVAC design included a variable air volume system, mechanical cooling system, exhaust systems and a radiant floor heating system.
