MOA Bill Lowe Fire Station #35
RSA Engineering provided mechanical and electrical engineering for the new Fire Station #35 in Chugiak, Alaska. The new station includes office and administrative functions, training and meeting rooms, training and EMT storage, bathrooms and showers, kitchen and break room, fitness room, and a decontamination room with laundry facilities. Mechanical systems include a high efficiency condensing dual fuel boiler system complete with variable frequency pumps, a NFPA 13 automatic fire sprinkler system, a vehicle fueling station which consists of an above grade 2,500 gallon fireguard tank complete with a high volume diesel dispenser and double walled piping system. One bay is a dedicated for vehicle maintenance operations which includes an oil water separator, compressed air system and general exhaust system. The station also features an NFPA compliant 20,000 gallon underground fiberglass draft tank and associated test stand. Electrical scope included energy efficient interior and exterior lighting, power and telecommunications design, and a relocated standby generator system allowing the facility to be operational in times of emergency or power outages
