Auntie Mary Nicoli Elementary School Replacement

RSA provided mechanical and electrical design services for this school replacement project. The new building includes a 16,059 square feet elementary school addition and a 3,000 square feet renovation of the existing building. The addition includes a new kitchen, which services the elementary and high school. The mechanical design includes new fire protection, plumbing, fuel, heating and ventilation systems. The fuel system includes a new intermediate fuel tank for heating, which connects to the existing bulk fuel system. Upgrades were made to the existing well to follow DEC requirements and provides domestic water for the complete building. The electrical design includes overhead electrical service, power distribution, standby generator, lighting, and telecommunication systems. Lighting features include LED lighting and lighting controls throughout all spaces. The low voltage/special systems include paging, audio/video, and a video system. The electrical design also includes a new voice evacuation fire alarm system. Site electrical includes LED lighting and overhead service for the school. Approximate construction cost – $18,000,000.
