A Legacy of Innovation

1983 Richard S. Armstrong Founded RSA

Richard S. (Dick) Armstrong founded RSA Engineering in 1983. Building on his 10 years of Alaska engineering experience, Dick set out on his own and soon earned the trust and respect of the North Slope Borough.

Dick’s company designed power plants, wastewater treatment plants, and virtually every conceivable type of facility for numerous remote villages throughout the borough. In just three years, Dick grew his sole proprietorship into an 11-person firm and incorporated in the fall of 1986.
In the year 2000, Dave A. Oliver, P.E., took over the reins and became President and Principal Electrical Engineer.

In early 2008, Dave passed those reins over to Mack W. Bergstedt, P.E., President and Principal Mechanical Engineer and Timothy E. Hall, P.E., Vice President and Principal Electrical Engineer.

In 2014, after years of sustained growth, RSA finally outgrew their offices and relocated to a new, modern facility that has state of the art conference rooms and tons of collaboration space.
Later in 2014, Mack W. Bergstedt retired and Timothy E. Hall was elected President. Mark R. Frischkorn, P.E., Vice President of Mechanical Engineering and Roger L. Weese, P.E., RCDD, Vice President and Principal Electrical Engineer, provide support for Tim.

In January of 2019, the company’s Board of Directors elected Roger as the new President of RSA. RSA’s Board of Directors also elected Channing as Vice President. Adam Wilson continues to lead the Mechanical Department as Vice President.

In January of 2026, the company’s Board of Directors elected Channing as the new President of RSA. RSA’s Board of Directors also elected Jeremy Maxie as Vice President. Adam Wilson, Vice President, leads RSA’s Mechanical Engineering Department, and Mark Frischkorn continues as Vice President where he focuses on business development.
