01. General Information
What types of projects does RSA typically work on?
We design mechanical and electrical systems for commercial, educational, municipal, healthcare, and industrial facilities, particularly those located in cold and remote environments.
Do you only work on large-scale projects?
Not at all. We handle projects of all sizes, from small room renovations to full-scale new construction and multi-building campuses.
Where is RSA Engineering located?
We are located in Anchorage, Alaska, but we work on projects throughout the state and occasionally in the Lower 48s. We are licensed in Washington, Oregon, Michigan, Idaho, and Alaska (of course).
02. Design Process
What is your approach to cold climate design?
We use proven strategies like energy recovery, condensing boilers, glycol systems, and low-temperature heating to ensure performance in arctic and subarctic conditions.
Can RSA incorporate sustainability and LEED principles into the design?
Absolutely. We regularly design systems with energy efficiency, low environmental impact, and LEED-aligned best practices in mind.
03. Project Management
Does RSA provide construction administration services?
Yes. We offer full-service construction administration and site observation, or hourly support depending on client needs.
How do you manage quality control?
Through internal peer review, field inspections, commissioning, and collaboration with experienced engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
04. Costs and Fees
How are RSA’s design fees structured?
Fees vary by project size and complexity. We offer fixed fee, hourly, or not-to-exceed pricing models designed to fit your needs.
