Nicholas J. Begich Middle School

RSA Engineering provided mechanical and electrical design and construction administration services for Nicholas Joseph Begich Middle School. The 176,000 SF building consists of 40 core academic spaces arranged in four “houses” to provide a home base for smaller groups of the estimated 900 students. The building includes classrooms, office space, cafeteria, dining area, library, and gymnasium. The auditorium is a combined cafeteria and auditorium with a full-sized stage. An affordable multi-zone linear fluorescent dimming system was installed in the auditorium to accommodate cafeteria, sports and performance events. The kitchen and shop area was outfitted with cord reels to allow for flexible arrangements of equipment in the spaces.
